Handoff, Vessel Passport

A boat's history should not live in a shoebox.

Owner-operated boats accumulate the same scattered records as any vessel: manuals in a drawer, service receipts in an inbox, and whatever the last owner remembered to mention. Vessel Passport organizes it once, verified, in one place the boat keeps for the next owner, captain, or mechanic.

Scoped and priced for an owner-operated or lightly crewed boat, roughly 40 to 70 feet. For a professionally crewed yacht, see Yacht Passport.

From $4,500, once. One record, one vessel.Private record, not a class document.

What’s included

  1. Complete document ingestion

  2. Systems, engines & electronics

  3. Maintenance & service history

  4. Vendor & marina directory

The marina, mechanic, detailer, and other vendors who already know the boat.

  5. Astra Intelligence

A grounded assistant that answers from the vessel's own records, included for the first year.

Metal NFC Vessel Passport cards; tap to open the record, no app to install.

How it’s built

We build the record. You don’t have to.

  1. You send what you have

Registration, manuals, service records, photos, whatever exists. There's no form to fill out first.

  2. We organise and verify

Every document is reviewed, duplicates removed, and what can be checked against the vessel is checked.

  3. We deliver it

The finished Vessel Passport goes live, with a handoff session and the engraved cards, ready for the new owner or the current one.

Pricing

The build, once. The record, kept current.

A single price, scoped to an owner-operated or lightly crewed boat. Larger or more complex vessels, with professional crew and full technical custody, are Yacht Passport territory instead.

The build

A one-time fee covering document collection, organisation, verification against the actual vessel where possible, and the finished, branded record. From $4,500.

Record custody

Keeps the record current after delivery: Astra Intelligence included, updates as service happens, and the record maintained through a change of owner. $995 a year.

Professionally crewed, or larger than about 70 feet? Yacht Passport is scoped and priced for that instead. Explore Yacht Passport →

Consultation

The price is published. The scope is still worth a conversation.

Tell us about the boat and the current state of her records. A private consultation confirms the scope and a timeline before anything is booked.

By appointment. We respond within one business day.

Vessel details are optional. Send only what you are comfortable sharing; we can cover the rest on a call.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

  • How is this different from Yacht Passport?

Yacht Passport is built for professionally crewed yachts, priced and scoped around crew, management companies, and full technical custody. Vessel Passport is the same discipline sized for an owner-operated or lightly crewed boat, roughly 40 to 70 feet, without that operational overhead.

  • What if my boat doesn't have complete records?

Most don't. We work with whatever exists, note what's missing rather than guessing at it, and the record improves as gaps get filled over time.

  • Is this a survey, inspection, or class document?

No. Vessel Passport organizes a boat's existing systems, documents, and history. It doesn't inspect, certify, or replace a marine surveyor.

  • What happens at a sale?

The record can transfer with the vessel, on terms the owner sets, the same way it does on Yacht Passport.
